Disaster Recovery Project

Existing Customer Recovery

Project description

PROBLEM -We were and existing Mirrored Storage customer for backup & disaster recovery. We managed out own workstations and servers outselves. Friday evening we started noticing that out documetns on our file server couldn't be opened. Over the next twenty four hours we found more and more problems until out production database became unresponsive Saturday afternoon. We found we had been infected with a crypto virus and all our data on every server and SAN had a ransom note in every directory contained the ransome note depanding $750K in bitcoin in 12 hours. The last time saw this was about 3 hears ago cost us $50K in recovery fees and at least $250k in lost productivity, business and reputation.

SOLUTION - Mirrored Storage's owner got personally involved coming onsite and started the restore of out servers from out local appliance at about 6pm Saturday evening and had us up and runnng before 8am Sunday. However, after about 6 hours we discovered that the crypto virus reinfected all out servers again. Once more we called Mirrored Storage and they had us back up and running by Monday morning. Then after fine all day Monday we were attached again before 5pm Monday and had to call for another emergency. Recovery done again and then after just a few miniutes attached again. To completely solve the issue we turned our workstation and server management over to Mirored Storage. We installed their Remote Monitoring & Management and Anti-Virus onto all our workstations and restored servers. Mirrored Storage products found and removed the virus spread throughout our environment and we ahve been up and running evewr since!!!
